Patterned Scarf

My Ravelry friend Womaninashoe is coming to Kansas City. It will be cold when she comes,  and she lives in Australia, so I though I would knit her a scarf. I came up with my own pattern, and decided to put it on here. I am going to knit her a different kind of scarf from another  pattern, but I already came up with the idea. :) So here it is! This pattern can also be paired with my Patterned Fingerless Gloves!

Use US 10 1/2 needles.(If you dont have 10 1/2, use 10-all it will do will make the scarf a little skinnier) Worsted weight yarn. I will use Everyday Soft Worsted, color lot Carnivale yarn,  100%     Acrylic. This pattern makes a good sized scarf, about 50 inches x 7 inches. :)

Cast on 50 stitches.

1: p5, k5; go until scarf measures 5 inches.

2: p 2 rows, knit 2 rows. Alternate until scarf measures 10 inches.

3: p5, k5; go until scarf measures 15 inches.

4: p 2 rows, knit 2 rows. Alternate until scarf measures 20 inches.

6: p 2 rows, knit 2 rows. Alternate until scarf measures 30 inches.

7: p5, k5; go until scarf measures 35 inches.
