Patterned Fingerless Gloves
My Ravelry friend Womaninashoe is coming to Kansas City. It will be cold when she comes, and she lives in Australia, so I though I would knit her a pair of fingerless gloves. I came up with my own pattern, and I decided to put it on here. So here it is! This pattern can also be paired with my Patterned Scarf! :)
Use US 7 needles. I will use Everyday Soft Worsted yarn, color lot Carnivale yarn, very soft, 100% Acrylic. This pattern makes medium sized gloves. They will be 9 inches long.
Cast on 60 stitches. (Make 2- same patter just fold in half where the seam is on the left for left hand and on the right for right hand.)
Start ribbing P4, K4; repeat for a couple rows until glove measures 1 inch.
1: p5, k5; go until glove measures 1 inch.
2: p 2 rows, knit 2 rows. Alternate rows until glove measures 2 inches.
3: p5, k5; go until glove measures 1 inch.
4: p 2 rows, knit 2 rows. Alternate rows until glove measures 2 inches.
5: p5, k5; go until glove measures 1 inch.
6: p 2 rows, knit 2 rows. Alternate rows until glove measures 2 inches.
7: p5, k5; go until glove measures 1 inch.
8: p 2 rows, knit 2 rows. Alternate rows until glove measures 2 inches.
9: Start ribbing P4, K4; repeat for a couple rows until glove measures 1 inch.
Seam:
Sew up the side* until you reach where the thumb hole should be. Leave a hole big enough for your thumb. Tie off before hole, then start again above. Tie off and you're done!
*[Sew with a yarn needle and same yarn that you used for the glove-saying that for the beginners in seaming :)]
